Yew Wood Windsor Chair Gabbitass Maker Worksop

An unusual extra large Yew Wood High Back Windsor Chair from the Workshop of John and Elizabeth Gabbitass who were one of the first chair makers in the Nottinghamshire town of Worksop, this chair is of the best model with better construction features,ie ogee shape under the tip of the arm, more detailed splat piercings, intricate leg turnings etc, this chair is larger than the avarage chair possibly made to special order, the condition is excellent with a pleasing colour and patina.
